Flow batteries

What are flow batteries? What are their benefits?

A flow battery is essentially a rechargeable battery. Unlike other batteries, it consists of electrolytes that flow from electrochemical cells to tanks. The electrolytes can encompass different types of chemistries.

Flow batteries currently provide 10-12 hours of energy storage, possibility reaching over 100 hours in the future. They are a reliable, low-cost and sustainable method of electrical energy storage.
